Ancient Phlious

It is one of the most fertile regions of Corinth. According to tradition, Phleious was the first place of cultivation of the vine, producing the famed phliasios oinos, famed in Antiquity.

The ancient city preserves part of the acropolis, the theater and the bouleuterion.

At a distance of 30 km to the west lies the exquisite lake Stymphalia, where according to myth, Hercules confronted the Stympahlian birds. Today it is an important wetland and attracts many nature-lovers.
